LAYANG LAYANG ISLAND RESORT
Layang Layang when translated means 'Swallow's Reef' (although there are no swallows present) is fast hecoming another of Malaysia's premier dive destination after the world-famous Sipadan Island. This oceanic atoll is situated in the South China Sea about 300 kilometres north west of Kota Kinabalu, the capital of Sabab. The little land mass supports a luxurious 90-room dive resort, a Malaysian Naval base and a nesting colony for several sea-faring migratory birds. The reef topography is essentially made up of a rich growth of hard corals; some are shallow that they break surface during low tides, but most begin at depths of about 5 metres and the wall plunges to about 2000 metres to the ocean floor. The deep-water attracts numerous pelagics and offers some exciting encounters off the wall.

Dive
With an average visibility of 30 to 50 metres, you can be assured of an amazing scuba diving experience here. The sea floor, right off the edge of the isle drops down to 2000 metres. Venturing below the surface of the sparkling blue, one will discover nature's most fascinating architecture as well as habitats of luxuriant and vibrant colours. Largely unexplored, much of Layang Layang has never been seen before. The reefs here harbour many new life forms, species yet to be identified, yet to be named. Fishes of every kind of colour darting in and out of delicate pastel corals are a common sight in this underwater playground. Armed with the spirit of exploration, many divers from all over the world have discovered this jewel in the blue wilderness. It is no wonder why Layang Layang is placed at the top of their lists for the best diving spot.

Dive Centre

PADI dive centre headed by certified instructors with a team of qualified dive masters

Our fleet of dive boats get you to the dive sites within 10 to 30 minutes

Rental equipment include BCDs, regulators, fins, masks, snorkels and flashlights

Note : 2 dives on arrival day, 3 dives on subsequent days and 1 dive on day before departure.

Kindly arrive at KOTA KINABALU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (TERMINAL 1) OR TERMINAL 2 (OLD AIRPORT ROAD) for check-in at least one (1) hour before departure time. No ticket are issued and baggage allowance is 25Kg per person. Excess baggage is chargeable at RM8.50 per Kg per way with effect from 1st April, 2005.

A representative will be the airport TERMINAL 2 to offer assistance.

Layang Layang shall not be liable nor responsible for any changes in scheduled flights, or missed connections as LLIR has no control over the airline company.

All return connecting flights should be at least 3 hours upon arrival from Layang Layang.

Layang Layang assumes no liability for lost or stolen personal belonging during the length of the trip.

Reservation must be made at least one week before arrival with the following information.

Name as per passport, Passport Number, Nationality and Gender

ETA & ETD with flight numbers and Hotel accommodation in Kota Kinabalu

Date of travel

30% non-refundable deposit upon confirmation. Full payment upon confirmation for reservation made less than one month before arrival.

Payments are non transferable.

Payment can be in the form of cheques/bank draft. Fax bank transaction slips/documents to us at 03-2284 8908 as confirmation of payment.

Cancellation Full cancellation charge for cancellation made less than 72 hours.

50% cancellation charge for cancellation made two weeks before arrival.

30% cancellation charge for cancellation made three weeks before arrival.

Non-utilised services are non refundable. Layang Layang is not liable for any and all non-utilisation of services due to acts of God or Force Majeure.

Travel Insurance All guest is required to have their own travel and diving insurance as the resort will not be liable for missed flights, baggage loss , flight cancellation (KK/LLIR) or any diving accidents.

Terms & Conditions

Deposit is required upon confirmation.

Package price above is subject to room availability and rates are nett inclusive of all taxes.

Package rate are not include flight transfer from Kota Kinabalu-Layang Layang Island-Kota Kinabalu, airport tax and dive equipment.

In the event of no show, rooms will be automatically released and deposit will be forfeited.

The company accepts no liabilities for losses incurred due to failure to connect with other services management and cannot be held liable for loss of baggage or personal belongings, illness, injury or death resulting from activities in which are beyond our control.

The customer are advised to insure their own insurance coverage.

Customers are also fully responsible to any damage to the resort property.

Management reserves the right to alter, amend, delete or add to the conditions or withdraw the package at any time without prior notice.

Divers are require to sign a liability release & express assumption of risk form. Dive Master reserve the right to exclude uncertified or unfit divers from diving.

Dive master may at his discretion cancel diving activities due to unsafe condition and poor weather.

Diver are not allowed to dive within a minimum of 12 hours prior to flying (recommended by PADI).

NO REFUND will be made in whole or in part for any unused days or unconsumed food at the Resort resulting from late arrival or departure. Confirmed guests who does not show up will be charged in full and no refund will be made for whatever reasons

REVISION of rates is subject to resort discretion and with prior notice

Full payment must be made payable to Ballzaction Sportsmart Sdn Bhd at least 3 weeks prior to arrival date.
