Description
This
wonderful day trip take place in Garama Village -
Garama River, Sabah; located about 130km from Kota
Kinabalu. It's about 2 hour ride from Kota Kinabalu
under.
Orangutans, macaques, red and silver leaf monkeys,
elephants, birds, eight species of hornbills, crocodiles,
civet cats and otters are found in this region, but
the most famous and most bizarre animal is the Proboscis
monkey (a primate found only in Borneo). With its
huge pendulous nose, a characteristic pot belly and
strange honking sounds, it is one of the most peculiar
and ugliest animals in the world. There is only one
species of the proboscis monkey, Nasalis larvatus.
The distinctive physical feature from which this monkey
takes its name is the long pendulous nose of mature
males.
The highlight of this tour is ~ of course, seeing
the remarkable Proboscis Monkey in the wild! Seeing
the bizarre monkey with their natural behaviour in
the mangroves is truly a wonderful experience.
Besides having the opportunity to see the Proboscis
Monkey, one may also get the chance to see variety
of birds, the common Macaque gathering in large numbers,
sighting of the rare Silver Langour, large group of
water buffalo and if you're lucky enough, you may
see crocodiles by the river bank.
After a delightful Malaysian dinner (Buffet Style)
our guide will show you a breathtaking view of fireflies
lighten up the mangrove tree near the Garama Base
Camp. A gift from nature before you leave the wonderful
place.

ITINENARY for Proboscis Monkey
Tour

Depart
from Kota Kinabalu for Beaufort, two hours
overland to the southern part of Sabah |
| 1530
hrs |
Arrive
at Garama River Lodge some few kilometers
away from the busy highway and are being transferred
to the mangrove swamps forest filled with
their own distinctive busyness and beauty.

On
board a comfortable fiberglass boat for 1
½ hours river cruise in this red river
(effect of tree’s tanine) surrounded
by mangrove trees. Proboscis monkey can be
spotted most of the time in the trees feeding
on young leaves, shoots, sour fruits and seeds.
Among others, you will have the opportunity
to observe Macaque, the rare Silver Languor,
Water buffalo crossing the river and variety
of birds. You may also witness sunset while
cruising back to the river lodge. |

Upon
arriving at the lodge, a sumptuous BBQ dinner
served in buffet line to satisfy your hunger
after the river cruising. |

dinner, a short walk to the swamp area to
catch the glimpse of fireflies decorating
the mangrove trees like a Christmas tree.
After 10-15 minutes of firefly watching, it’s
time to head back to Kota Kinabalu. |

we cannot be held responsible for personal injury
or loss due to the action of clients which are beyond
our control. A signed release or Indemnity Form will
be required from all participants from Ballzaction
Sportsmart Sdn Bhd and our sports strategy partners. |
Responsibility:

and our partners reserve the right to make such alteration
to departure and completion dates, reducing the extent
of a trip, etc, that we deem necessary due to road,
river or weather conditions or other conditions beyond
our control including minimum safe running numbers,
before and whilst on a trip. |
Fitness,
Health & Experience:
While
good health and a positive mental attitude are essential.Ballzaction
Sportsmart Sdn Bhd and our partners reserve the right
to refuse to carry any client who is deemed to endanger
the safe running of the trip. "Pregnant women
will be refused participation". |
Indemnity
Form:
Each
participants is require to sign an indemnity form
when requested by the tour guide before any trip commences. |
Insurance:
Clients
are advised to be insured, trip are excludes the insurance
coverage. However, we encourage clients/participants
to be insured. The particular we required from participants
to submit is full name as in identity card, IC or
Passport number. Maximum age limit is 60 years old
and in good healthy with medical proof. Insurance
can be provided at an extra cost on request. |
Payment
Condition:
- Deposit
50% of the total amount is required at the time
of booking. In case of cancellation, 20% of the
deposit will be forfeited. Balance payment to
be made in 7 working days prior to departure of
trip or every Thursday before 5pm as the cut off
date for any booking.
- Payment
should be by cash or cross cheque to Ballzaction
bank account.
- No Refund
will be entertained in case of NO SHOW or UN-USED
Service without informing Ballzaction in advance
with minimum 48 hours before the trip.
- Postponement
notice must be provided by BallzAction or our
sport partner due to bad weather or high water
in which high risks is unavoidable, all payment
will be transferred to a later date agreed by
both parties.
- Postponement
notice from participants must be provided by fax
or in writing within 2 working days prior to departure
for day trip and 14 working days for multiple
days trip to qualifiy for an alternative date.
Maximum to one time postpone notice allowed from
customers/participants. Insurance payment is non-refundable
or transferable. Full refund will be entertained
to participant who agreed and bound to our terms
and conditions.
- Once
payment made. Participants will received a Confirmation
Letter from Ballzaction. Only booking with confirmation
letter consider as VALID booking (Please insist
of Confirmation letter once you made the payment).
